Please share this post with anyone you know who has a WordPress blog but needs more blog followers or subscribers.
I just happened to have stumbled across this really cool, informative, short (4 minutes), helpful, entertaining video about WordPress blogs which explains so simply and so amusingly why you need one and how to use it to gain more followers and customers.
So I emailed Julie Weishaar, the creator of this dynamite video over at New Horizons123 and asked her if I could share her video on my blog post — and she said — YES! I even told her to add a watermark to the video, because it just might go viral.
If you don’t have the energy to explain to friends, family and business partners why they need a WordPress blog, then simply share the link to this post with them.
If you don’t have the time and energy to explain to your fellow bloggers why they have no followers, then please send them the link to this blog post.
Because this video explains so much in so little time and in such a fun way!
If you would like to read another detailed blog post on my site that will give you a better idea on how much time and effort it will take for your blog to reach “momentum”, with a HUGE, LOYAL blog following, then check out this post “How long till your blog is successful?”

Thank you Jupiter Jim for all the valuable information that you share and your genuine encouraging support. You are just the person I needed to help me with marketing. Your little video just inspired me to blog about “Taking your power at your Desk with Feng Shui” for those who are not able to attend my upcoming class this week on” Feng Shui for Wealth & Prosperity”. This goes for you too! A blog for a blog! The energy of Giving & Receiving!

HI Jupiter Jim,
Yes, a great video. There is a lot of gold in it!
Blogging is in its simplicity providing great content for your readers, and then searching out those people in your target market and getting them to look at your content.
Providing your content is great, and you keep adding to it your visitors will return again and again to find out what you are up to.
Fact is these days, you are missing out if you don’t have at least one blog.

yes, quality content and finding your target market is so important. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the great video. I recently have been listening to the Duct Tape Marketing Podcast, and he was interviewing Seth Godin about the importance of content creation. One of the easier ways to do this is to identify and reach out to ‘experts’ in your niche and interview them for your blog. It creates exposure for them and expert content for your blog.

Great video Jim, well shared. I agree with the concept and all the reasons given.
Blogs allow ideal interaction and positioning to build connections and network, and naturally a business can be plugged into this medium.
Of course, we have to venture out and play in the other sandboxes too. And that’s part of what makes it so much fun.

Great video from Julie. She hits on one of the sore spots that bloggers have… the “time” it takes to make things roll in your favor.
Blogging is a real commitment, not just a roadside billboard. But for all the work and time, it’s unequaled in it’s ability to build a real business with more than skin-deep relationships with your clients and customers.

That is a wonderful video.
It took me awhile to begin blogging for my business. I had a thousand excuses and I believe that my two biggest ones were that I did not have much to say and that I was not an expert. I finally told myself that no one likes perfect people (not that there are any) and my writing did not need to be perfect. I suppose perfection is more important for neurosurgeons and auto mechanics; however, it was more important for me to be authentic–even if that meant being authentically screwed up. We all crave connection, and I think that is why blogging has become such a popular medium.

Hi Jim,
I really like the video. We all can learn so much. Blogging is very important and we have to keep it active. Thanks again.
Love this video! What a FUN way to get people to understand HOW to get a blog following!
One of my favorite parts about blogging is that it keeps bringing me more new friends that CARE to see me succeed! Unlike offline or old school methods of exposing our businesses in a mostly forced environment where we’re mainly told to keep yacking away about our opportunity, which leads us to join the NFL club (No Friends Left)! LoL!
I agree – blogging is just the same as social media where we must build a ship of relations (aka relationships, haha). So, obviously it’s gonna require time for others to trust, know, and like us.
Glad I’m playing in your sandbox Jim! So, glad we MET!

Jim,
Great video suggestion.
Blogs are by far the most important tool for small business today and the video clearly demonstrates that. But most importantly, have your blog set up correctly.
That’s why it’s suggested to reach out to an expert and have them help you with the most important part of your site, the SEO basics.
Once that is in place, everything else like social media only add to it.
Thanks for the posting and keeping it real!

There is so much more to this subject, but it is certainly a good start. This certainly is something most people should be reading, even for businesses that have a site online, but not a blog.
One of the funniest things I get a kick out of at WordCamps is when after talking with a business owner who has their blog on a separate from their site, rather than their whole site on WordPress. I also get those who want to convert their static sites over while keeping exact design, but think it is not possible until I tell them that it IS possible.

Nile,
thanks for your comment. You are able to convert someone’s someone’s static or conventional website to WordPress while keeping the exact design because you are obviously a talented WordPress Site Designer. And, most definitely, website owners should have their whole site on WordPress WITH their blog, no question! Thanks for commenting!
Hello Jim
The video is dynamite just as you describe. The way Julie uses the metaphor of playing in a sandbox to explain how to get followers is excellent. Blogs and other social marketing is about relationships. Blogging is an active way to create and build relationships.
